 Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Guide Dogs Connected Together funding opportunity. Before commencing an application, please read the following to ensure that your activity aligns with the guidelines, and that your group is ready to apply.

About Connected Together

Funding is available as part of Connected Together to support activities that increase opportunities for social connection among people with low vision or blindness and their carers, family members or support networks.

The opportunity can help fund existing community or peer group activities, or bring a new group or peer support idea to life – whether you connect and share experiences with your community in-person, virtually or via telelink.

The community or peer group will need to be led by people with low vision or blindness or their carers, family members or support networks. The available funding is a one-off opportunity towards activities that will likely foster continued social connection and is not on-going funding.

Examples of activities could include sports come and try days; walking groups; coffee catch-ups or peer meet-ups; accessible arts and cultural activities; health and wellbeing sessions (including mental health); audiobook clubs, test and trial of new assistive technologies and short courses or upskilling for community or peer group leaders.

Funding is designed to cover associated costs of participation such as venue hire, catering, transport, facilitators and training. Successful applications will be contracted via an Agreement, which outlines terms and conditions of funding.

Connected Together welcomes a range of applications, which reflect the nature of diverse communities and peer support groups across the country. You will receive confirmation from the Connected Together Team on next steps within 7 business days.
